New high temperature flexible cable assembly

IRVINE, Calif., USA – March 5, 2019 – Meggitt, a market leader in sensing and monitoring systems for extreme environments, has developed model 3076, a unique cable assembly that has the temperature capability of a high temperature mineral insulated hardline cable yet is extremely flexible like a softline cable. It is ideal for installations that require low noise and flexibility for cable routing.

Presently, in the global Test and Measurement industry, the 3076 is the only alternative to the use of the rigid and difficult to handle hardline cable. This softline cable will shorten installation time and enable new possibilities for engineers and technicians charged with making dynamic measurements of aircraft engines, aerospace components, ground-based turbine engines, power plant equipment, and other machinery that operate at high temperatures.

Key features:
– Unlimited number of allowed bends
– Limitless cable routing possibilities
– Operation up to 1000°F (538°C)
– Potential improvement of dynamic response of the cable + sensor system

The outer jacket of the 3076 cable is constructed of 304L braided stainless steel and has a diameter of 0.095 inches (2.4 mm) with a bend radius of 0.25 inches (6.35 mm). This cable is insulated between the connector backshell and the stainless outer sheath to prevent inadvertent grounding. It features rugged 10-32 hex connectors on both ends. Optional accessories include a variety of in-line adaptors.
