New damped triaxial accelerometer for automotive crash applications

IRVINE, Calif., USA – June 12, 2019 – Meggitt has released the new 713 accelerometer in response to automotive customer requests for a more affordable triaxial accelerometer that both improves measurement reliability and is sized to fit in locations where three accelerometers mounted on a block are not feasible. This easy-to-use and install model 713 sensor comes in two rugged housing configurations; the 713 for adhesive mount and the 713F for screw mount. Features on the 713 include high sensitivity for excellent signal-to-noise ratio and multi-mode gas damping for flat frequency response. This triaxial piezoresistive accelerometer is DC responding and ideal for measuring shock and impact in many applications including automotive crash, military vehicle testing, train crash and heavy weight drop testing.

Key features include:
– 2,000g full scale range
– High output of 0.3mV/g
– Multi-mode gas damping
– Adhesive (713) or screw mount (713F)
– 10,000g shock survivabilityCustom connector configurations are available upon request and each unit is shipped with a calibration certificate showing performance at 5 and 10 V excitation. The 713 is both CE and RoHS compliant.
