September 23, 2011, San Juan Capistrano, California, USA – Meggitt Sensing Systems, a Meggitt group division, has introduced the Endevco® model 2248M1, a lightweight, hermetically sealed, piezoelectric charge output accelerometer with high-temperature operation to +482°C (+900°F), in support of the high-reliability vibration testing requirements of aircraft engines, aerospace components, ground-based turbine engines and power plant structures, as well as petrochemical plant process monitoring and in-laboratory measurements.
Offered with a minimum sensitivity of 3 pC/g, design of the Endevco® model 2248M1 features a Piezite® sensing element with Meggitt’s own patented Isobase® construction, allowing for a flat charge response over a temperature range of -55°C to +482°C (-67°F to +900°F). This construction type allows for mechanical base strain isolation from the mounting surface. The use of Inconel® housing material also provides for hermeticity through welding and glass-to-metal fusion at the 10-32 side connector. Units feature an integral stud mount for ease of installation, with signal ground connected to the case. A variation of the Endevco® model 2248M1, the model 2248, is also available, featuring a flange mount configuration. As a piezoelectric accelerometer, the model 2248M1 is a self-generating device that requires no external power source for operation.
All Endevco® sensors and instrumentation are accompanied by a comprehensive five-year product warranty. Recommended optional accessories, sold separately, include the model 2721B charge amplifier and the 2771A remote charge converter, both available from Meggitt Sensing Systems.
