New high sensitivity piezoresistive accelerometer for crash testing

IRVINE, Calif., USA – July 10, 2019 – Meggitt has released the new 726CH accelerometer with double the signal output of competing products for unmatched signal-to-noise ratio. The 726CH features flat frequency response from 0-5,000 Hz and is compliant with SAE standards for accelerometers for anthropomorphic test dummies (ATD).

The high sensitivity of the 726CH provides improved accuracy at lower acceleration ranges, while still supporting the industry standard 2,000g range. The multi-mode gas damping of our latest full-bridge MEMS sensor offers ruggedness and resistance to ringing which can be detrimental to your data. This sensor is ideal for use in a broad range of automotive, train and sled impact applications.

Key features include:
– High sensitivity with 0.3mV/g typical output
– Multi-mode gas damping
– Compliant to SAE J211/J2570
– 2,000g range with 10,000g survivability
– Comes standard with 5 & 10V calibration

Materials of construction are RoHS compliant and each unit is shipped with its own A2LA certified calibration certificate. Meggitt controls the complete manufacturing process; from the MEMS sensor made in our in-house Silicon Valley fabrication facility to the final test with our certified calibration systems.
