Filter signal conditioner features industry's first individual input ground isolation
The Endevco model 4999 is a low-pass, 16-channel, 2U rack-mounted filter signal conditioner. It is the first in the industry with individual input ground isolation to eliminate ground loops often encountered with multiple channel measurements. It is particularly well suited for applications such as rotating machinery test cells and the nuclear services industry where a very low noise floor is required, among others.

Variable Capacitance or Piezoresistive?

With the advent of variable capacitance ("VC") transducers and continued availability of piezoresistive ("PR"") devices, engineers now have a wider choice of accelerometers for their measurement needs. VC devices seem to garner comments such as, "They're the same as PRs - why change?" Or, "They're different and hard to understand - so I'm going to stick with what I know."
